Day 8 - 12/03/2021
Day 8 - 12/03/2021
The morning started off relatively lazy. We woke up around 8 AM and after freshening up we planned for 2 potential options. First, if the registration for the car is taken care of, we would visit the wild-life sanctuary. If not, we would take a train to Denver downtown and hang out there.
As we were discussing this, Akshay told us that the registration for the car is renewed and we that we were all set.
The wild Animal Sanctuary is about 30 miles away from Denver, Keenesburg, CO. It is spanned across located in 720 acres of land and specializes in rescuing and caring for large predators which are ill-treated, or not cared for, or which otherwise be euthanized.
We had to take I-76 East and then take state Rte-52 towards the sanctuary. The drive was unexpectedly pleasant, and especially on Rte 52, where the railroads ran parallel to the street, reminded me of my visits to Goa, where I still remember watching the trains from the houses and streets.
At the sanctuary, they have built about 3 miles long skywalk on the premises and all the rescued animals - tigers, lions, bears, camels, ostriches, hyenas, wolves, and many more - would just roam around underneath. Rohan & Vijeta enjoyed it the most, and clicked quite a few pictures of the wild animals.
After the visit to wild Animal Sanctuary, we drove back home. We had planned to dine at "STEM CIDER" restaurant, which is known specially for its ciders - (surprise!!!). Kishori had made reservations for us.
Today was our last day of visit, as we fly back home tomorrow. Weather was excellent, and ciders and food were equally good. After a relaxed dine out, we came back home and chatted for some time. It was an excellent celebration to wrap up our trip.
This is it for today. So far The trip has been really fascinating and if not for this log, I wouldn't have realized how quickly the days just went by. This is the last entry for this journal. Hope to continue this logging habit for future endeavors as well. So far it was quite an experience and I surely am going to cherish these memories for long time to come.
